Tariro Youth Development Trust

Tariro Youth Development Trust is a community based organization that was established in 2015 and registered as a non-profit organization under registration number M0001519/2015. It is committed to integrated health and sustainable livelihoods approaches. Our initiatives improve access to adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health and rights in hard-to-reach, undeserved and humanitarian areas while building individuals, households and communities resilience to cope with (i.e. mitigate the negative impact of) and recover from (i.e. return to equal or better conditions after being affected by) various shocks and stresses arising from climate change and macro and micro or lifecycle economic pressures. TYDT employs a social risk management approach to enable vulnerable boys and young men, girls and young women, households and communities to improve their ability to deal with “the likelihood of being harmed by unforeseen events or as susceptibility to exogenous shocks” that result in poor sexual reproductive health and rights outcomes. These unforeseen events and shocks are driven by; discriminatory social norms and beliefs, climate change and economic shocks and stresses.
