Tariro Youth Development Trust (TYDT) is a youth-focused and not-for profit organization that champions the rights of young people and equality for the girl child. We strive for a just and inclusive society in which all children and youth are empowered to reach their full potential and exercise their rights; be healthy and productive citizens. Specifically, our interventions are catalyst of change that improve the health and well-being of young people, with a specific focus on advancing universal access to adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health and rights integrated with sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurship, education and skills development.
Established in 2015, Tariro Youth Development Trust was registered with the Deeds Registry Act as a charitable Trust, under the registration number MA0001519/2015. “Tariro” is a “Shona” word which means “Hope”. Therefore, TYDT believes that young people are the hope, light and future of our communities. They are leaders and pride of any community that need empowerment so that they can reach their full potential and lead development in their communities.
