Get To Know Us
Tariro Youth Development Foundation
This Is Us
We trace our roots to 2015, when we were established as Tariro Youth Development Trust (TYDT), formerly registered as a Trust on December 8, 2015 (MA0001519/2015). On March 20, 2025, we transitioned into a Private Voluntary Organization (PVO 06/25) with a slight name change to Tariro Youth Development Foundation (TYDF), while our mandate remains the same.
We are a youth-led organization that cultivates healthy, resilient, and active young leaders who drive sustainable development. We ignite this through a focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Sustainable Economic Opportunity, and Youth Agency. In times of crisis – be it health, economic, or environmental – TYDF stand with youth, helping them to safeguard their rights, restore livelihoods, and reclaim agency. We strengthen their capacity to anticipate, absorb, and recover from shocks, empowering them to lead recovery and rebuild resilient communities. We fuse technology and innovation into every aspect of our work to accelerate impact and drive bold, youth-led solutions.

Where We Work
We proudly stand alongside Zimbabwe’s youth, empowering them to lead their own development. TYDF was born in Zaka district in 2015, where we have a strong presence, and we’ve extended our reach to Masvingo and Chiredzi districts through collaboration. As we embark on the next five years of our strategic plan, our mission is to expand nationwide, creating lasting impact for youth across the country.

Our Strategy
We empower youth to break barriers and lead the charge towards a brighter future. Our strategic plan for 2024-2029 lays out an exciting roadmap for the next five years, focusing on Youth health and wellbeing, Creative economy and entrepreneurship, Youth agency and leadership and Emergency action and protection. Together, we are shaping resilient and thriving young leaders who will transform their communities.
